A city contractor was shot twice at John Street, Lodge on Sunday night while resisting armed robbers who were after the jewellery he was wearing at the time. Dennis Archer of Alexander Village, Greater Georgetown, according to the police has been admitted a patient of the Georgetown Public Hospital.
According to a police press release issued yesterday, the incident occurred around 23:40 hrs. Archer, who is a contractor, was attacked and robbed by two men armed with handguns.
Investigations revealed that Archer was on his motorcycle in front of a friend’s residence when he was held up by the men who drove up in a motor vehicle and demanded his personal jewellery, which he was wearing at the time. He resisted and was shot to his left thigh and right ankle by the perpetrators who escaped.
Police are continuing investigations into the incident.
