(BBC) The cash-strapped Turks and Caicos Islands is threatening to name and shame businesses which are in arrears to the government.
A release from the Ministry of Finance said firms who fail to pay up could face sanctions which include being named in the media and having their assets confiscated.
The British territory’s administration says cooperation by Government debtors to pay their dues on time will enable the TCI to meet its financial commitments and provide services.
The release did not state the amount that the government is owed.
