The owners of New Thriving Restaurant were the latest victims of a recent rash of armed robberies.
Che Jin King and husband Xioe Gaung Zhan, both 52, were held at gunpoint as they were about to entre their Brickdam premises in the early morning hours yesterday.
According to police, the robbery occurred at about 3am, as they were about to enter their premises.
Three men, who were armed with a handgun and two knives, drove up in a car and held them at gunpoint.
King’s handbag was snatched by the men. The bag, according to police, contained jewellery, a cell phone, Canadian $12,000 and G$200,000.
During the robbery, Zhan was struck to the head with the firearm and he was admitted to a private hospital.
