A serving member of the military, his wife and another man were over the weekend arrested and read charges of treason against the Government of Guyana.
According to reports, Major Bruce Munroe of the Guyana Defence Force, his wife Carol-Ann Munroe and businessman Leonard Wharton, all of Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara were held by the police since Thursday in connection with the Ministry of Health fire last year.
The trio was also questioned in connection with the arson attempt on the High Court, the Richard Ishmael Secondary School and an attack on the Brickdam Police station later in 2009.
They are to appear in court tomorrow where the indictable charge will be read to them.
