The Caribbean Media Corporation is reporting that an earthquake measuring 5.1 shook Trinidad and Tobago last night. There were no immediate reports of damage or injury.
The National Earthquake Information Center at the United States Geological Survey said the quake occurred at 9 p.m. local time and was located 15 miles northwest of Port of Spain in Trinidad and 70 miles west-southwest of Scarborough in Tobago, CMC said.
The quake, which was located 10.765 north and 61.691 west at a depth of 59 kilometres, was also felt in Guiria and Carupano in Venezuela.
