Fisherman among Essequibo trio on ganja charges

Essequibo fisherman Trevor John was on Tuesday admitted to bail in the sum of $50,000, after being charged with having a quantity of cannabis in his possession.

John, appearing before acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, denied that on December 24, at Essequibo, he had in his possession eight grammes of cannabis.
