Representatives from Teddies Diapers and the Teddies mascot delivered over 50 hampers to mothers of babies born on New Year’s Day, at hospitals in Georgetown.
At the time of the presentation Annette Boston had given birth to the first baby born at the Georgetown hospital at 03:42 hrs. He weighed 3.64kg. The first baby girl was born to Maceida Wakefield at 04:25 hrs. She weighed 2.34kg. Keisha Jones and Kim Nedd also gave birth to baby girls while Shelly Winter and Delva Boston had boys. The other mother, who was still in the operating theatre at the time of the ceremony, gave birth to twins: a boy and a girl.
All the other mothers in the post natal ward were also given hampers and were afforded the chance to take pictures with the Teddies mascot.
At Medical Arts the only New Year’s baby, a girl, was born to Donnette Griffith.
The baby weighed 3.3kg and was delivered at 03:10 hrs. At the Woodlands Hospital Neela Umrao gave birth to a baby boy weighing 2.78kg at 04:40 hrs and Radika Khan gave birth to a baby girl weighing 2.47 kg at 08:45 hrs.
In addition Subrina Ramkumar gave birth to a baby girl at the Georgetown Medical Centre (formerly known as Prashad’s Hospital). At St Joseph Mercy Hospital Tamara Clarke gave birth to a baby girl.
Each hamper contained diapers, Teddies booty and a Teddies bib. The company, which is a division Trading and Distribution Inc and a member of the Neal and Massy Group, has been hosting this exercise annually for 10 years.
