Delroy James, one of the suspects in the New Year’s morning gas station robbery that left Seon Craig dead, was yesterday charged with murder.
James, called ‘Slant Eye,’ 25, of Angoy’s Avenue, was remanded to prison by Magistrate Adela Nagamootoo, after he was arraigned on the capital charge at the Reliance Magistrates’ Court.
It was alleged that on Saturday, January 1, 2011, he murdered wash-bay attendant Craig during a robbery at Mars Gas Station & Variety Store, Snackette/Beer Garden.

Mars and his wife Joan of over $500,000. In the interim, Craig was shot in the chest while another wash-bay attendant, Wade McDonald, was grazed in the head by the same bullet. The robbery was carried out by two unmasked men, who posed as customers.
James was released from prison last April, after serving an eight-year sentence for armed robbery and unlawful arms and ammunition possession. He was arrested in the Angoy’s Avenue area on New Year’s morning.
The case has been transferred to the New Amsterdam court, where it will be called next on February 21.
