A Guyanese man beat his estranged Guyanese wife in Bom Fin, Brazil, early Tuesday, resulting in her being hospitalised.
A relative said that Esther Foo resided in the Brazilian community, close to the border with Guyana since her separation from her husband last year. The couple has two children.
According to reports reaching this newspaper, the husband, a miner, returned from the mines recently and went to the woman’s home in Bom Fin.
Early Tuesday, reports said, there was an altercation between the two. Due to the severity of the beating inflicted, the woman had to be hospitalised.
