A Kaneville shop owner was shot at least three times in the chest by bandits earlier this evening and is in a critical condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
Kajid Khan, 30, and his family were attacked by five bandits some time between 7.30pm and 8pm. Khan was at home, where he operates his shop, with his wife and three children, at the time. The bandits also beat the injured man’s wife while demanding valuables from the couple.
Khan and his wife were rushed to the East Bank Demerara Regional Hospital. While the man was transferred the city for further medical attention his wife remained at the Diamond location.
