(BBC) Opposition MP Robin Yearwood has criticised the Antiguan government for removing Sir Gerald Watt as chairman of the country’s Electoral Commission.
Speaking in parliament during debate on the 2011 Budget, Mr Yearwood accused the government of ridiculing the laws of the country.
The Antigua Labour Party parliamentarian said he could not understand Sir Gerald’s dismissal, given that a government-appointed tribunal had cleared him of any wrongdoing stemming from the controversial March 2009 general elections.
