The police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at about 7 pm yesterday at No. 60 Village, Corentyne during which mechanic Ramesh Sukhram, 46 years, was attacked and robbed by four men armed with guns.
Investigations revealed that Sukhram and five other men were repairing a fence to his premises when the armed men approached and held them up. The police said that Sukhram was taken into his house while the others were placed to lie on the ground with three of the men standing guard. The other man ransacked the home and took away a quantity of jewellery after which they escaped.
