Police on the East Coast of Demerara (ECD) were last night searching for a young man who along with another attacked and stabbed two teenagers at Vryheid’s Lust, ECD.
Injured are 13-year old Dan Patterson and his cousin 19-year old Rayon Nedd, both of Lot 2, Vryheid’s Lust.
According to the boys’ relatives, Patterson was sent to another relative on an errand around 6:30 pm when he was attacked by another teen with whom he had had a misunderstanding the previous day. A relative stated that the young man was stabbed in the region of his left abdomen by his accomplice with a sharp instrument.
The young man then made his way to another relative’s home and related what had occurred.
Reports are that Nedd was inquiring from a few young men who were playing basketball in the area about who had attacked his relative when he was held from behind by a young woman.
An eyewitness stated that Nedd was stabbed more than four times by the woman’s brother as two siblings cornered him.
Another relative of Patterson, an off-duty police officer went to Nedd’s rescue and he too was attacked by the assailants.
He however, did not sustain any injury.
The injured Nedd was picked up by persons in the area and along with Patterson, was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH).
Nedd‘s injuries were said to be serious but his condition was listed as stable while Patterson was expected to be discharged from the hospital last evening.
Reports are that the police managed to arrest one person in relation to the incident while two others went into hiding.
