The Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana (CIOG) on Tuesday commissioned a $25M department at the Meten-Meer-Zorg Islamic Academy to better accommodate students pursuing a secondary education there.
At the commissioning ceremony, CIOG President Fazeel Ferouz expressed gratitude to the donor for making the school expansion a reality. The Zakaat House of Kuwait partnered with the CIOG, in the extension exercise, a release from the Education Ministry said.
Shaik Moeenul Hack of the CIOG underscored the importance of education for the development of Guyana and the eradication of social ills in the society. The head and not the hand must be used to resolve disputes, he said.
