Investigators last evening surrounded and searched the premises of PPP MP Philomena Sahoye-Shury, after a failed attempt was made to “channa bomb” her house.
An unknown attacker, a police source told this newspaper, lobbed a Molotov cocktail at Sahoye-Shury’s Section K, Campbellville, Georgetown house, sometime before 11pm. However, the source said that the device failed to explode.
The matter was immediately reported to police and a thorough search carried out on Sahoye-Shury’s home. Sahoye-Shury, this newspaper understands, was assisting police with investigations up to press time.
The lobbing of a Molotov cocktail on Sahoye-Shury’s house comes days after a grenade exploded at the Stabroek Market area killing one man and injuring 18 others.
