The Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) is hosting a two-day International Civil Aviation Organisation training course on Monday and Tuesday.
In a press release, the GCAA said the course is aimed at boosting the level of safety of aviation services delivered by aviation service providers, such as aircraft operators, air navigation service providers, airport operators and training and maintenance organisations.
The course, ‘State Safety Programme Implementation,’ will be facilitated by International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) personnel and will cover an integrated set of regulations and activities aimed at improving safety.
It will also provide practical guidance on how to develop and implement key elements of a safety programme in an effort to establish acceptable levels of safety and it will incorporate significant aspects of current safety regulations and policies.
The programme also aims to improve the GCAA’s capability in developing and implementing safety policies and standards used in conducting oversight of the industry as Guyana endeavours to comply with the international standards and recommended practices of ICAO.
