The injured man, Stabroek News understands, is suspected to be a “thief”.
However, he is denying this allegation made against him by police and says that he was in a yard when ranks went shooting up in the area and wounded him to the right leg.
The incident occurred at about 3.30pm and he was subsequently rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital. He is currently a patient under guard at the medical institution.
