A man who admitted to hitting another out of a fit of anger is now awaiting sentencing, pending a probation report.
Clayton Allen was yesterday placed on bail in the sum of $20,000, when he appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, on a charge of unlawful assault.
The court heard that on January 6, at Georgetown, Allen assaulted Dellon Primus, so as to cause him actual bodily harm.
When given a chance to respond, Allen said that he and the virtual complainant were involved in a heated argument and out of anger he “gave the man [Primus] one cuff.”
After hearing the case, Sewnarine-Beharry granted Allen bail and ordered a probation report into the matter. Allen is to return to court on January 28, for sentencing.
