Managing Director of Bounty Farm Limited Patrick De Groot has been appointed the new Chairman of the Guyana Livestock Development Authority (GLDA).
Government yesterday rescinded the appointment of Dr Steve Surujbally as chairman.
In a letter to Surujbally yesterday, Minister of Agriculture Robert Persaud informed him of the move. “This situation has not become necessary as a result of any illegality, but rather in the context of the circumstances beyond our contemplation,” Persaud wrote.
De Groot was informed of his appointment by Persaud in a letter yesterday as well.
