(De Ware Tijd) – Suriname will soon recognize the Palestinian state. Palestinian Authority Foreign Affairs Minister Riyad al-Maliki told this to the Arab newspaper Asharq al-Awsat earlier this week. During yesterday’s weekly Cabinet press conference, Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Lackin stated that Suriname is not against the establishment of an Independent Palestinian state. In recent months, President Desi Bouterse has discussed this issue with other South American leaders on several occasions.
