The Berbice Volleyball Association (BVA) will launch the 2011 season on Sunday at the G.T.M Court, New Amsterdam, with an open competition for county teams.
The competition will involve the top clubs from New Amsterdam and the Corentyne, among others. A total of eight clubs will contest the tournament.
Prior to the start of the competition, teams will be addressed by the President of the BVA Gregory Rambarran and Region Six Youth and Sport Officer Omeshwar Shrikishun. President of the Guyana Volleyball Federation Lenny Shuffler is expected to declare the season open.
The action is expected to start at 09:30hrs and trophies and other prizes will be up for grabs.
