(Trinidad Express) Another woman has been killed as a result of domestic violence.
The victim, Guyanese national Patricia Duncan, 41, last employed as a security guard at a Sea Lots fish processing company, succumbed to a chop injury to her neck around 6.30 p.m. yesterday at the Port of Spain General Hospital.
Shortly after mid-day yesterday she was attacked at her workplace by a relative who chopped her once to the neck after he accused her of infidelity.
Police said Duncan and a 45-year-old relative, who up to late yesterday remained in police custody, both worked as security guards with Strike Force Security, the company responsible for securing the Barana Seafood Processors Ltd at Production Avenue, Sea Lots, police said.
Duncan lived at Laventille Road, San Juan.
Police said the suspect was arrested by officers moments after the attack. He was held while running, with a bloodied cutlass in hand, near the Port of Spain Abattoir.
He was taken to the Besson Street CID where he was later interviewed by Sgt Avalon Frank and Cpl Darryl Adjoda, police said.
Officers said the suspect and another man were engaged in a fight at Duncan’s home on Sunday.
Sgt Frank is continuing investigations into the incident.
