Library conferenceThe National Library hosted a conference for Rural Local Assistants aimed at boosting service at libraries in far-flung areas countrywide. In a press release the library said the meeting, held on Tuesday, also aimed at marketing the various centres, strengthening structures for the countrywide development of a modern library service and implementing programmes that would ensure patrons are provided with the type of service they need and expect. At the close of the session the participants who hailed from Lethem, Bartica, Santa Mission, Crabwood Creek, Anna Regina, Salem, Hague, Kuru-Kururu, Port Mourant, Stewartville, Mocha, Stanleytown, Lan-Liv-Man, Kildonan, Mahaicony, Lichfield, Albion, Golden Grove, Buxton, Beterverwagting and Woodley Park were enthusiastic about implementing the decisions taken.
