The Winston Murray support group today said its members had an opportunity to be briefed by PNCR presidential hopeful Carl Greenidge on his vision for the party and the country and the group has agreed to give him its unanimous support.
A statement from the group which had been set up to support the candidacy of the late Winston Murray said that it had been drawn to its attention that “there have been misinformed opinions about its unity, cohesion and structure”. It said these opinions are unfounded.
The group said that since the passing of Murray it has remained steadfast to the goal of transforming the PNCR, strengthening its democratic culture and providing the best possible leadership.
A number of the nominees for the PNCR presidential candidate found favour with the group, the statement said, and it was agreed that dialogue would be had with Greenidge.
“Persuaded by his qualifications and sterling personal qualities, all members of the group, including Dr Richard Van West-Charles, have agreed to give their unanimous support to Mr Greenidge as the presidential candidate for the PNCR”, the statement said.
