The Leeward Islands left their best performance for last as they humbled a determined Canada outfit by 19 runs in their final group B match at the Caribbean Twenty20 Championship at Kensington Oval last night.
Chasing the Leewards very formidable target off 162, the Canadians were in the game until the 14th over but the pressure was too much in the end for them. They caved in at 142 for seven after being 89 for one at one stage.
But the loss of opener Hiral Patel for 55 was crucial for the North Americans. He batted well and got his runs from 47 balls with three fours and a six.
