Semi-final action will unravel tonight at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) Ground as the BK International Western Tigers Super Eight Knockout Tournament continues with what is expected to be a thrilling double header.
The action kicks off at 6pm with the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) going head-to-head with Fruta Conquerors while Pele Football Club will collide with hosts Western Tigers in the feature showdown at 8pm.
The teams will be battling for a spot in the final which takes place on January 30 at the same venue with the winning team receiving the top prize of $500,000.
Tigers and Pele secured the last two semi-final spots Friday night when they humbled GFC and Santos respectively.
In the opening match Nedd Fraser produced a double while Lorenzo Duesbury scored once to give the host team a comfortable three goal victory over the GFC team.
The feature match saw Pele and Santos battling to a goalless first half. However they each scored a goal in the second half and with the score still being level at the end of full time, the teams proceeded to a penalty shoot out. Pele eventually ended up the winner by being the team to hold their composure.
