The Street Solutions organisation will be launching its Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) initiative and website on Saturday at the Cliff Anderson Sport Hall.
This programme is one of three new initiatives that organisers are undertaking to provide structure for youth basketball and create programmes that will improve its quality in order to enhance the athletic, educational and social experience of its participants.
Street Solutions is known for spearheading the National Schools Basketball Festival, the Titan Bowl, the Secondary and Mini School Basketball Network and several other community-based grassroot projects.
In a recent press release the organization stated “With this new brand initiative Street Solutions look forward to developing partnerships with basketball’s stakeholders, so we can all work together to improve our sport for everyone in the years ahead.” The programme is set to start at 1pm and key stakeholders such as government officials, school teams and the YBG Elite are expected to attend. Immediately following the launch, two days of basketball exhibition games featuring a YBG High School warm-up segment and two feature games with the YBG Elite players will be hosted. The first game will feature the Masters and the second, on Sunday, will see a match-up against Georgetown’s number one team, the Ravens.
