Over 15 boxers drawn from two clubs in Berbice will invade West Demerara today for an Under-15 Inter-Gym showdown at Goed Fortuin.
According to vice president of the Guyana Amateur Boxing Association (GABA) Jeff Roberts, the one-day boxing extravaganza will see the cream of the country’s U-15 boxers on display including three nephews of former world rated fighter Howard `Battersea Bomber’ Eastman.
The event will be held at the Goed Fortuin Community Centre ground commencing from 2pm.
Jamaal and Joel Eastman and Richard Williams, all nephews of one of Guyana’s most famous professional boxers will be in action, said Roberts.
The Berbice boxers will come from the Pocket Rocket Boxing Gym and the Rose Hall jamming Club, Roberts added. Sponsorship for the Berbice team to travel to West Demerara has been provided by Gordon’s Boutique, J’s Supermarket, Kim’s Fashion, Vanvies Fashion, Yikes and a number of other contributors.
