A thirty-seven-year-old man was this morning stabbed to death in a Strathspey, East Coast Demerara bar following an argument with a group of men.
Suresh Bhola called Navin also known as `Rebel’ of Strathspey, East Coast Demerara was pronounced dead at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPHC) shortly after midnight.
The wife of the man, Sharmilla Bhola, told Stabroek News that her husband left their home at around 6 pm yesterday for Diven’s Hangout Bar located a corner from where he lived. Sometime after midnight she received word that her husband had been stabbed but by the time she rushed to the bar he had already been taken to the hospital. The woman said she was told that her husband and a group of men were involved in an argument when one of them pulled out a knife and stabbed him in his stomach. He collapsed and was rushed to the GPHC. Bhola said when she got to the hospital her husband was “lying down dead.”
