Nineteen-year-old Diana Chapman was on Saturday night crowned the Junior Calypso queen beating out last year’s winner Tennicia De Freitas who grabbed the second spot.
Chapman, a Lindener, wowed the crowd at the Mc Kenzie Sports Club with her rendition ‘Bring Back Beri Nancy.’ The young woman, who is considered a child star in the Linden community as she starred in a local movie and is a well known dancer, had to settle for second last year.
Ernesta Nelson took the third spot with her piece, ‘Eat too Much.’
The event, which was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport was attended by a fair-sized crowd.
