West Indies and T&T all rounder Dwayne Bravo is not too concerned about the poor performances he has turned out lately.
The Santa Cruz resident said he had an average season in Australia in the Big Bash series and this was due to certain situations.
“I am not bowling badly at the moment is just that I came on late to bowl in many games for Victoria Bushrangers in the Big Bash. This would have accounted for many of the runs against me.
“In the batting department I am hitting the ball pretty well, it is just that the runs are not being put together as I would like.” In four matches in the Big Bash series, Bravo scored 42 runs and was dismissed once for an average of 42. His best innings was 23 not out. In the bowling department he took two wickets for 68 runs at an average of 34.00 and bowled a total of 7.3 overs and had an economy rate of 9.06.
Looking ahead, Bravo said he was looking forward to playing the limited overs tournament in Sri Lanka. “This series coming so close to the World Cup is going to be very useful for us. The players would get a taste of the conditions and they will come up against a world class side..
“I am personally looking to contribute with both bat and ball and work on a few things before the World Cup comes around. This tour is going to be very important for me, as I look to hit top form going in to the World Cup.”
The West Indies is in Sri Lanka to play a series of one day matches after it was cancelled late last year due to rain.
