Yesterday’s scheduled annual general meeting and election of office bearers of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) was not held.
A source from the GCB said it has been postponed until further notice.
The delay in the staging of the elections is because the audited financial report and annual returns of the GCB are still with the Friendly Societies where one understands they are being processed.
Audited reports and annual returns have to be officially released before any legally constituted Annual General Meeting (AGM) can be held.
At least eight days notice must be given before such a meeting can take place.
Incumbent Chetram Singh has indicated that he will no longer contest the post of president of the GCB and three persons Bissoondyal Singh, Ramsey Ali and Bish Panday are the frontrunners to succeed Singh.
