LONDON, (Reuters) – Chelsea completed the signing of Liverpool’s Spanish striker Fernando Torres on Monday, the Premier League clubs confirmed. In a statement on their website champions Chelsea said Torres had signed a five and half year contract.
The fee is reported to be in the region of 50 million pounds, eclipsing the 35 million pounds Liverpool paid for Newcastle United’s Andy Carroll earlier yesterday.
