The first ever Lantern Festival will be held this evening at Independence Ground, Middle Street to usher in the Chinese Year of the Rabbit.
The festival comes on the eve of the Chinese New Year and is being coordinated by Jason Wang of China Trading and Brian Yong.
The event will begin at 6.30 pm. At 7 pm 400 paper lanterns will be released into the evening sky. The general public is invited.
