Relatives of Aubrey Buntin, the Guyanese contractor who was shot dead in Barbados on Saturday, left the country last evening for the island.
Police investigations in the Caribbean state are continuing and close associates of Buntin here could not offer much on the incident yesterday. Buntin, popularly known as ‘Tall Man’ was shot seven times outside his St. James, Barbados home on Saturday during a robbery. He died on the spot.
A gunman, who was masked, confronted the contractor as he was entering his home and shot him.
His mother and sister left for the island yesterday. Before leaving these shores, Buntin operated a shop at the popular Five-Corners at McKenzie, Linden.
His last time in Guyana was about a year ago when he returned for a visit. In Barbados, it was reported, Buntin was a sought-after contractor who worked in the upscale neighbourhoods serving elite clients. He is survived by his wife and two children as well as other relatives.
