Teenager Avinda Kishore who shot a gross 75 (handicap 7) net 67 secured the second position and captivated officials of Ansa McAl who had sponsored him to compete in last year’s Suriname Open in Paramaribo.
Kishore also won the lowest gross prize.

Ansa McAl pulled out all the stops for the tournament with impressive trophies, snacks, fresh fruit and of course free STAGs for the players, and also donated to the club’s youth programme.
In remarks at the prize giving ceremony, PRO Darshanie Yussuf disclosed to cheers that the company will be installing five benches around the course for weary golfers.
Club Secretary William Walker thanked the company not just for the financial support but for getting involved in the tournament and he commended Yussuf and Stag brand coordinator John Maikoo for their professionalism and efficiency in making the event such a success.
According to Walker, Ansa McAl is becoming one of the premiere partners with the golf club and looked forward to teaming with them for another tournament later in the year.
Meanwhile this Saturday’s tournament is a team competition sponsored by Oasis Cafe.
