A 60-year-old woman was busted at the John F Kennedy Airport on Monday night with six pounds of cocaine, Capitol News has reported.
According to the report, the woman left on a Caribbean Airlines flight out of Georgetown and upon her arrival in New York the drugs were unearthed. It is not clear where the drugs were secreted.
Observers have pointed out that while the security forces have reported improved security measures at the airport, drugs continue to slip through undetected. Two others persons have been held for the year at JFK with drugs that passed through the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri.
