A man has been arrested over the murder of Sophia resident Shane Rowley who was stabbed last month.
In a press release issued yesterday police reported that the suspect is in police custody assisting with investigations. The man, police said, was arrested on Monday at Charlotte Street, Georgetown.
Rowley, of โAโ Field, Sophia, was allegedly fatally stabbed during an altercation with the suspect on January 22, 2011, at Sophia.
The 32-year-old man Stabroek News has learnt upon visiting the scene that day was stabbed twice by the suspect, who is his neighbour, following a dispute over a passageway. Rowley had been pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
