PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Daren Ganga will return to lead Trinidad & Tobago in their second round match of the WICB Regional first-class championship against the Combined Campuses & Colleges, starting on Friday at the UWI Sports & Physical Education Complex.
Ganga is the only change to the squad, which drew their opening match with Barbados last weekend at Guaracara Park.
He replaces Jason Mohammed, a middle-order batsman and useful spinner, who failed to make an impression against the Barbadians.Ganga was sidelined for the first match, after he failed to recover from a hand injury, which he sustained in the Caribbean Twenty20 Championship last month.
Also keeping his place in the T&T squad is all-rounder Rayad Emrit. He emerged Man-of-the-Match last weekend for a well-played 97 in his team’s successful recovery to overhaul their opponents’ first innings total.
He also bowled tidily to finish among the wickets.Emrit suffered a thigh injury in a collision with Barbados fast bowler Tino Best on the third day of the match, and used a runner for the remainder of his innings, but he is expected to be fit for the match.
Squad: Daren Ganga (captain), Atiba Alert, Rayad Emrit, Shannon Gabriel, Sherwin Ganga, Justin Guillen, Amit Jaggernauth, Aneil Kanhai, Imran Khan, Dave Mohammed, Runako Morton, Denesh Ramdin and Lendl Simmons.
