D’Aguiar’s Park businessman Paul Daby Jnr was on Tuesday released on $600,000 bail, after he was charged with discharging a loaded firearm at a man.
A senior police official yesterday confirmed that Daby Jnr appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Sparendaam Magistrates’ Court. It was alleged that on Sunday night, he discharged a firearm at a man’s whose name was given as “Mohammed,” at a Dennis Street, Sophia location. It was reported that Daby Jnr attempted to enter a cock-fighting pit without paying the entrance fee. The person manning the gate refused to allow him entry and it was at this point that Daby Jnr shot at him.
The matter has been adjourned to March 1.
