Suriname chooses France as Europe gateway

(de Ware Tijd)- France and the Netherlands will remain allies in spite of the fact that Suriname would like to move its gateway to Europe from the Netherlands to France. French Ambassador Joël Godeau said this yesterday during a ‘friendship breakfast’ with journalists in his residence. “Suriname has now chosen for France, and as usual, France and the Netherlands together will find solutions to different issues such as this”, says Godeau, who adds that besides the Netherlands and France, there are other options for Suriname to reach Europe. “But now this government has chosen Paris, and we respect that.”
