De Man, a play dealing with family life and its challenges, will be staged next Saturday at the Theatre Guild.
The production is being put on by the Youths for the Creator (Y4C) group of the Vreed-en-Hoop Wesleyan Church.
One of the group’s leaders Christine Grant, who is also the playwright, promises that the play, which deals with several issues relating to the family, will be entertaining yet serious.
Among the issues that will be dealt with are: the roles, responsibilities and attitudes of husbands and wives, the dangers of sibling comparison, the challenge of the teenage years, the positive and negative influence of friends and the negative effects of poor parenting.
The play also deals with the importance of an individual depending on God’s help.
“The fact is with our ‘best’ we’ll never be good enough… God’s help is critical as we seek to overcome the various challenges we face as individuals and as a family,” she said.
Tickets cost $700 and are available at the Vreed-en-Hoop Wesleyan church. Starting time is 8 pm.
