Play will get underway in the second round of the WICB Four-Day tournament between Guyana and the Leeward Islands at the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) ground, Bourda, today, weather permitting.
The second day of play was also abandoned yesterday due to a soft outfield, which was caused by heavy and persistent rains over Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday the outfield was inundated and only parts of the 30-yard was visible.
Both sides have expressed disappointment at not getting to play but have also stated that that they will be coming hard at each other when the game gets underway. The Guyanese are on four points while the Leewards have no points and the teams find themselves in a must-win situation.
