Gareth Davies scored 19 points from one try and seven conversions while Matthew Morgan added 10 points from two conversions as Wales defeated Guyana’s national Sevens team 54-0 yesterday in the quarter finals of the plate division.
Also scoring tries for Wales were Lee Rees, Ifan Evans, Richard Pugh, Adam Thomas and Alex Cuthbert who added one try each.
On Saturday Guyana scored their first try of the tournament but still went under 7-57 to France in their final Group `A’ encounter.
France’s Terry Bouhraous and Matthew Acebes scored three tries each for 11 points while Jean Baptiste Mazous scored 10 points from two tries.
Five other players Jean Charles Fidinde, Renaud Delmas, Yohan Artru, Steve Barry and Maxime Eberland scored one try each.
Guyana’s points came through a Walter George try and a conversion by Ryan Gonsalves.
