Dear Editor,
Olga Lopes-Seale was not only an announcer and involved with the Radio Needy Children’s Fund, but she was also a singer. I remember hear her singing with another announcer of her time, Jack Casimir, and the programme was called ‘Jack and Olga.’
Of course that was a time when people like Ed Fung, Rafiq Khan, Lilian Fraser, Hugh Cholmondeley, Ayube Khan and others were versed in the Queen’s English and did not say things like ‘voilence’ and ‘inqury’ and ‘Bogato’ instead of Bogota. Yes, Olga Lopes-Seale was a genuine people-minded person, who lived a long and active life serving people and doing things to make this world a better place. We should all be happy she spent so many years with us.
Yours faithfully,
W P George
