(BBC) Former Caribbean cricket financier Allen Stanford is being sent to a prison hospital to receive treatment for addiction to anti-anxiety medication and for psychiatric evaluation.
A US judge last month declared Mr Stanford unfit to stand trial on charges of running a $7billion fraud from his bank base in Antigua.
The former billionaire became addicted to a powerful anti-anxiety medicine in prison.
A federal Bureau of Prisons website listed Mr Stanford’s status as “in transit” from a Houston jail to another facility,
He has pleaded not guilty to a 21-count criminal indictment that he ran a Ponzi scheme.
