At about 8 last night, cane-harvester Chandrapaul Jaikarran, 37 years, of Strathspey, ECD, was at home with his wife, sister-in-law and a friend when five men entered the home through an open door and robbed them.
The men, four of whom were armed with handguns and the other with a knife, held up the victims and tied them up, after which they ransacked the house and took away jewellery and $11,000 and escaped.
It is suspected that the same men then went to the Devin’s Bar at Strathspey where the bartender Ryan Gangaram was attacked and robbed of his personal jewellery during which he was stabbed to his chest.
Ryan Gangaram has been admitted to a private Hospital for medical treatment.
