The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) says as observances are held today to mark Guyana’s 41st Republic Anniversary, citizens must also resolve to work harder for prosperity.
According to the PPP, it is time for celebration after hard work and it noted that there is much to celebrate after much work and difficult struggles. The party said Guyana experienced positive economic growth in the face of the financial crisis internationally, owing to the leadership of the PPP/C administration in every aspect of life. It also credited the consistent drive to deepen democracy here. It, however, added that Guyanese must use the occasion not only to celebrate but also to resolve to work harder for a prosperous and bountiful Guyana.
The PPP also noted that although observances are being held when some persons have been inconvenienced by flooding, it stands in solidarity with them and hopes that things normalise as soon as possible.
