Magistrate Geeta Chandan Persid-Edmond on Thursday adjourned the Babita Sarjou harassment case to March 18, after the prosecution asked the court for more time to file a statement.
Prosecutor Vishnu Hunt had previously been granted additional time after a similar request on February 9.
The defendant, Sarjou’s former husband Anand Narine, was present at court when the matter was called. The allegation against Narine is that on August 31, 2010, at Georgetown, he exposed pictures of Sarjou to public view to corrupt public morals. Narine allegedly plastered copies of a nude picture of Sarjou in public, including on the fence of her then place of employment, BK International. The man denied the charge and had been granted $75,000 bail.
Sarjou, a mother of one, has been missing since the night before Diwali 2010.
