A man was stabbed seven times by another man during an outing yesterday.
Michael Reid of Timehri, East Bank Demerara was in a stable condition and was being treated at the Georgetown Public Hospital last night. The stabber is in police custody.
According to reports, Reid and another man, Carl St. Clair, were on an outing at Yarrowkabra yesterday when an altercation developed. This resulted in Reid allegedly approaching St. Clair and slashing him on his shoulder. However, St Clair allegedly retaliated and stabbed Reid several times with a small knife. Reid sustained seven wounds to his chest and back, hospital sources said.
The matter was dealt with at the Timehri Police Station and then sent to the Brickdam Police Station and Reid was eventually taken to the hospital where he was being treated up to press time. He was conscious and in a stable condition, this newspaper was told. St. Clair was under police guard at the hospital and was eventually taken away. Police are continuing investigations.
